Dr. Jeannett Clampitt grew up most of her life in Independence, Iowa. She went to Iowa State University and graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and minor in Business in 2017. She then continued onto graduate school at Iowa State University and graduated with a Masters in Microbiology doing research in vaccine development for Mycoplasma species in cattle, pigs, and chickens. While finishing her research she decided to go to Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2023 with her DVM. She joined as an associate at Risius Family Veterinary Clinic right after graduation.

Dr. Jeannett is one of our mixed animal doctors. She spends time at both the Maquoketa clinic doing large animal medicine as well as the Eldridge clinic doing both small animal and large animal appointments. She enjoys working with clients and helping educate them about their animal’s health and helping improve herd health in livestock species. She is a member of:

Outside of work, Dr. Jeannett enjoys spending time with her fiancé Austin and their dog MooMoo, their cat Jedha, and working on their small hobby farm. She also enjoys gardening, traveling, kayaking, camping, snowmobiling, visiting local breweries, spending time with her family, and rooting for her favorite team: Iowa State!
