Dr. Joel Sullivan originates from Woodbine, Iowa. He completed his undergraduate studies at theUniversity of Northern Iowa. He then transferred to Iowa State University where he graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2007, which is the same year he joined Risius Family Veterinary Service.
He became a part owner of Risius Family Veterinary Service in 2010. Dr. Joel specializes in large animal medicine, specifically cow/calf herds and vaccination protocols.

He became a vet because he has always been involved in agriculture and this was a way to stay involved and to help protect America’s food supply. In Dr. Joel’s spare time you will find him playing taxi driver to his 3 children who are involved in numerous activities including: swimming, piano, football, and baseball.
